DUBAI - The World Gold Council (WGC), in partnership with international industry player Hammer Group, announced the much awaited names of the final six winners of the AuDITIONS Arabia, the premier pan-Arab gold jewelry design contest, hailed as being the Oscars of the Arab jewelry world.

The final judging session took place on Nov. 26, 2008 where these 30 designs were then modeled for an elite panel of judges comprised of some of the most accomplished and well-known jewelry and fashion professionals, industry experts and representatives from the World Gold Council, Hammer Group and AngloGold Ashanti. The final six winners were selected from the Top 30 finalists by the judging panel.

The names of the winners were announced in an awarding ceremony which took place at the Gulf Auditorium of the Fairmont Hotel on Thursday. The six winners were chosen from two categories and received prizes, trophies and certificates of merit on behalf of World Gold Council, Hammer Group and AngloGold Ashanti. The winners are:

Catwalk category
First - Jeana and Magdi Mushriqui - Egyptian
Second - Reem Nadim Yassouf - Syrian
Third - Asma Salem Alawlaqi - Emirati
Ready-to-wear category
First - Karam Mosaad Ahmed Mohamed - Egyptian
Second - Mohammed Abul Azayem Abdul Munem - Egyptian
Third - Nithya Mukundan - Indian
Anan Fakhreddin, managing director, Middle East & Turkey, WGC said: "We at World Gold Council are happy to announce the much awaited results of the names of the final six winners of the AuDITIONS Arabia contest.
