Works of the Sidi Youssef port project at a cost of 23 million dinars will start in October 2016, Minister of Agriculture, Water Resources and Fisheries Saad Seddik announced on Saturday in Sfax.

At a working session that brought together the ministers of agriculture, public works and energy and local officials and representatives of the civil society and focused on the development situation in the region of Kerkennah, the minister spoke of ways to address several issues, the most important is the protection of traditional fishing in the archipelago of Kerkennah and the creation of five thousand artificial barriers to fight against uncontrolled fishing.

Participants at the meeting also talked about the tourist and ecological project "Sidi Fenkhil" for which no response to the international tender launched recently on its implementation over 90 hectares was recorded.

Several members of the region that participated in the meeting called for the need to expedite the holding of a Cabinet meeting that will focus on solving problems development in the governorate of Sfax.
