DOHA: Qatar Fuel (Woqod) will open four new service stations in Al Daayen, Shamal Al Jamia, Al Shahaniya and Rawdat Rashid in the first quarter of 2011. The fuel company, yesterday, signed five agreements with local companies for new projects in different places in Qatar. The contracts were signed to build three new petrol stations and two technical inspection centres.

The agreements for petrol stations in Bufsila and Rawdat Al Hamama on north road in Umm Salal comes as part of Woqod's strategy to provide its services across the country. The contracts were signed by Mohammed Turki Al Sobai, Vice Chairman and Managing Director, Woqod.

Contracts to establish two technical inspection centers at Wadi Al Banat area in Shamal Al Jamia, and Mesaimeer were also signed between Woqod and local companies .

Meanwhile, drawings have been made for the two stations in Al Khadira and Oum Sgheib in Zubarah region on the north road. Meanwhile, for the stations located on Salwa road, the drawings are finished for the two petrol stations in Abu Samra at the borders with Saudi Arabia and Al Karaana. Furthermore, the drawings for the station at the entrance of Mesaied city and another one on the trucks road are still going on.

Woqod is currently coordinating with the Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning to study the possibility of establishing other stations on the north road that will be comprehensive and include large rest-stops and truck parking spaces, in addition to establishing new petrol stations on Al Wakra road and Mesaied road to serve the residents and visitors of those areas.
