BAGHDAD - The secretary-general of the Hezbollah movement in Iraq, Wathiq al-Battat said "Kirkuk is a red line that cannot be in any bargains, and if the Kurds wanted independence from Iraq it would not be for them."

He told the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA / The Kurd's decision to organize a referendum on their independence is not wise decision and they have no right to take Kirkuk to their alleged state. "

Battat added that "Kirkuk after 2003 was not before, because the Kurds made clear changed through targeting Arab component and doubled the Kurds," noting that "Kirkuk is an Iraqi city and if they wanted to take it to their state , they would be seas of blood between us."

He explained, "We will stand against them as we stand against the ISIS, we are with the independence of the Kurds without Kirkuk and the disputed areas be in within the alleged state, they should think again before taking their decision."

The head of the Kurdistan region, Massoud Barzani declared that "the province will hold a referendum on independence within the next few months."
