This was disclosed by Hassan Abbas Abdel Rahim, Member of Central Municipal Council (CMC), representative of the 10th constituency, in an interview with Al Sharq newspaper.

The multi-storeyed mall, which will be constructed opposite to Al Wakra Hospital, can accommodate a total of 229 cars in its mezzanine floor and the basement. The second floor will have 48 stores, shops, 3 coffee shops, big supermarket, male and female washrooms, prayer rooms. A mezzanine floor with some shops, big playing hall for children, three movie houses and an open ball with many restaurants, he added.

The exclusive mall will serve the southern districts of Al Wakra and the neighbouring area. The work on the project will begin in the coming months and will be officially opened by 2011.

Further the official said that the Minister of Municipality and Urban Planning has approved the earmarking of the north area of Al Wakra Corniche for families only and will provide all necessary amenities and services for both adults and children, so that they can spend quality time with their families.

A big quota of public parks and entertainment projects has been allocated for Al Wakra in the current fiscal year as it was revealed by the Minister during the CMC meeting. During the coming years many parks and playing fields for youngsters and children would be built in Al Wakra where intensive urban expansions are going on.

Eighty percent of the projects, which are being implemented now under the supervision of Ashgal (Public Works Authority) were completed, including development of infrastructures of the north-south-western part of Al Wakra, interlocks, and pavements costing QR140m, and the whole project would be finished in the coming three months.

The other project concerning the south-northern area of Al Wakrah is ready to be implemented in the same way in the beginning of 2010, and early next month Ashgal will start constructing temporary roads instead of the unpaved ones with a cost of QR12m. They begin from Abdallah Abdel Ghani Roundabout and link the northern district with the western one.

The authorities have also allocated QR6m to construct a small roundabout in Al Jebel region which is isolated from Al Wakrah.

Two clubs for youth (male and female) will be established later on, he indicated.

Finally he called for constructing a parallel road to Barwa residential town which is located near Al Wakra main road, starting from Doha city to Barwa region, noting that it will be opened during the coming month.
