According to "Leaders.com.tn" website, on the occasion of the celebration of "Tunisia Day", flags of Tunisia and Japan were jointly hoisted on Tuesday on the pediment of the prestigious University of Aizu, in the Fukushima region (300 km north of Tokyo).

Officials with the president of the institution received the Ambassador of Tunisia in Japan , Mr. Noureddine Hached in the presence of prominent Tunisian colleague, Professor. Abdullah Ben Abderrazek.

Highly notorious both inside and outside of Japan, University of Aizu is the only university in Japan which is dedicated through its various faculties, to computer science, Japanese and English signs. It opened nearly 50% of its workforce to foreign researchers and teachers, selected among the brightest in the world.

The exchanges between officials of both countries explored the opportunities offered by the university to Tunisian students and researchers to complete their course and enrich their work as well as benefit from large scientific and technological potentials. For their part, the Japanese scholars also took cognizance of the research programs in Tunisia and the possibilities of cooperation in this sector.

The University's president visited the various departments and more specifically, the laboratory of Professor Abderrazek Ben Abdallah, who designed the first biological chip.

"Injected under the skin, the chip can detect any trouble and report it immediately to the doctor and the medical center, he said.

Succeeding at the podium, the Japanese officials hailed Tunisia's progress and reiterated the commitment of the scientific community in Japan to strengthen and diversify trade cooperation projects.

Mr.Noureddine Hached stressed in this regard, the role played by Professor Abdullah Ben Abderrazek.
