Two New Units Inaugurated At Fanavaran Petrochemical Company

Two new units at the Fanavaran Petrochemical Company in Mahshahr were inaugurated on 7 August by Iranian Minister of Petroleum Kazem Vaziri-Hamaneh. The first one is a 140,000 tons/year carbon monoxide plant which uses 84,000 t/y of natural gas feedstock, built at a cost of $37.4mn. The second one is a 150,000 t/y acetic acid plant which uses 82,000 t/y each of methanol and carbon monoxide feedstock, built at a cost of $66mn. The company has other units which produce methanol, carbon monoxide and acetic acid.
