Abu Dhabi, 16 March 2011 (WAM): Malaysian oil and gas companies, reputed worldwide for their sector expertise and best-of-class support services, will display their capabilities and resources at the Malaysia Services Exhibition-2011 (MSE-2011), scheduled to be held at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), 17 20 April.
Middle East oil producers are currently expanding and upgrading their oil and gas infrastructure and the exhibition will hence provide an opportunity for the sector to tap the premium services and solutions offered by Malaysian companies. MSE-2011, organised by the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), will bring together as many as 150 Malaysian companies from a diverse range of services. The exhibition, held in the UAE for the foruth year in a row, aims to provide service providers from Malaysia to network with major players as: Professional Services, Energy and Power Generation (Engineering, Architect, Interior Design, Urban Planner, Landscaper, Energy and Power Generation), Construction and Related Services, Oil and Gas, Specialised Training and Business Services and Environment Management Services. According to Malaysia Oil and Gas Report Q2 2011:"Malaysia will account for 1.77% of Asia Pacific regional oil demand by 2015, while providing 8.39% of supply. Regional oil use of 21.42mn barrels per day (b/d) in 2001 reached an estimated 27.28mn b/d in 2010, and then is forecast to rise to around 30.80mn b/d by 2015. Regional oil production was around 8.35mn b/d in 2001, and averaged an estimated 8.82mn b/d in 2010. It is set to increase slightly to 8.85mn b/d by 2015". The report added:"Between 2010 and 2020, Malaysia forecasting a 0.83% decrease in Malaysian oil production, with crude volumes peaking at 750,000b/d in 2014. Oil consumption between 2010 and 2020 is set to increase by 21.42%, with growth slowing to an assumed 1.5% per annum towards the end of the period and the country using 589,000b/d by 2020. Gas production is expected to rise from an estimated 70bcm in 2010 to a possible 100bcm by 2019/20. With demand growth of 28.57%, this provides an export capability peaking at 59.8bcm in 2019, largely in the form of liquefied natural gas". The state-owned Petronas operates in partnership with various international oil companies under a production sharing system that is believed to result in production of 720,000bpd by 2012. Meanwhile, Malaysia's gas exports are set to rise to 46bcm with production climbing to 80bcm by the year 2012. Commenting on the event Dato Yahaya Abdul Jabar, the Malaysian Ambassador to the UAE, said: "Countries in the Middle East have expanded their industries and services sector to meet the demands of their continued growth and prosperity. Malaysia Services Exhibition will explore the vast opportunities in the services sector provided by the economic growth in the Middle East as well as in West Asia, Central Asia and North Africa." "The Middle East is oil-rich and Malaysian oil & gas companies can offer the region the expertise and resources required to enhance oil production, refining and storage. MSE-2011 will also provide all participants and visitors a platform for further international exposure and strategic collaboration," he added. Dato Yahaya added:Malaysia has more than 28 years accrued experience in churning out offshore and onshore facilities. Malaysia offshore fabrication has grown into one of the major activities in the oil & gas and maritime industry. The Malaysian Oils & Gas Services council (MOGSC), Offshore Structure Fabricator Association of Malaysia (OSFAM), Association of Malaysian Oil & Gas Engineering Consultants (MOGEC) will lead the participation of the countrys oil and gas sector at MSE-2011". Among the projects undertaken by Malaysian Oil & Gas service providers include:Gasco Ethane Recovery Maximization Project in UAE, Satah Full Field Development project at offshore Abu Dhabi, NCP South Plot Project in KSA, Saudi Kayan Petrochemical, Olefins Plant, Al Jubail in KSA, Shuaiba Refinery in Kuwait, Pearl GTL Project at Ras Laffan Industrial City, in Qatar, Upgrading of the Foroozan Offshore Complex in Iran, Gas Development Projects in Iran, Dimensional Survey of facilities in the Arabian Gulf and Engineering Design for Offshore facilities in Iran.Copyright Emirates News Agency (WAM) 2011.
