The UK- based travel website Travelweekly reports that according to figures revealed at this year's Association of Independent Tour Operators (AITO) conference held in Kerala, India, Tunisia could be next year's hot destination.
The website quotes the managing director of an independent tour operator, Ms. Sara Smalley, who says that Tunisia has greatly benefited from the addition of 20,000 passengers seats during the summer.
With the average sales price 300 Pounds cheaper than Egypt", she believes "Tunisia could come into its own next summer".
Evoking the global trends for holiday travels, Ms Smalley expects a 30% drop in sales for self-catering.
"Group bookings are also popular for 2010" she said, as "they account for 30% of all bookings in the year to date largely because of the need to book earlier".
Tunisia attracts each year more than 300,000 British visitors. According to the tour operator 'travelsupermarket', Tunisia ranks as one among the best 10 destinations preferred by British tourists.
Following Tunisia's signing in 2008 of the Open sky agreement, British low -cost airlines are able to operate direct flights from London to Tunisian airports.
