MUSCAT -- The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) launched yesterday its awareness programme and activities at Oman International Exhibition Centre. The TRA's participation in the event in line with its continuous efforts to strengthen its direct communication channels with the consumers to enhance their awareness on its role, services and the regulations of the telecommunications sector, by responding to public queries on topics relevant to the authority's domain.

As part of its daily awareness programme, the TRA employees conduct daily presentations focusing on various aspects of TRA's domain. The first presentation was by Rozalin al Balushi from the Legal Affairs Unit at the TRA. It outlined the rights and obligations of beneficiaries under the telecom law. The presentation coverd a number of issues of concern to the consumers, notably prices, quality and the efficiency of telecommunications services and equipments. She also spoke on Resolutions and Decisions issued by the Authority regarding billing of telecommunication services in the Sultanate.

Other topics to be highlighted through TRA presentations are: .om top level domain names, quality of telecom service, types of telecom licenses and importance and conditions of radio licenses. Further, daily a number of TRA employees would be present at its pavilion to respond to all public inquiries. In this regard the TRA is pleased to extend its invitation to the consumers of the telecommunications services in the Sultanate to visit its pavilion for any inquiries related to the TRA domain.
