Dubai:The Everest Sports Academy teams drew their two-day games at South Shields Cricket ground in England. In the Under-13 game against South Shields CC , the Everest Sports Academy were shot out for 93 in 38 overs on a tricky wicket. Rahul Nambiar with 14 and Ahmad Tarek with 11 were the only batsman to reach double figures. Keith Ding took 3 for 15,

The South Shields team also managed to score only 107 and take a lead of 14 runs. Varun Ravi took 3 for 25 while Kush Uttamchandani took 2 for 12. Emad Ashraf and Luv Uttamchandani took one wicket each. Ben Scott was the highest score with 22,

Everest put up a better show in the second innings and finished on 91 for the loss of 3 wickets with captain Rahul Nambiar scoring a fine 56 not out. Tarek chipped in with 14. The match ended in a tame draw.

In the second match, South Shields batted first and were dismissed for 84 in 36 overs. In a deadly spell of swing and pace bowling by Vaibhav Chandrasekhar and Sam Dorell, the South Shields wickets fell at regular intervals. Sam Dorrel took 4 for 20 in 6 overs while Vaibhav took 2 for 10 in his 8 overs. Sreenivasa Sarma and Varun Ravi took 2 wickets each.

In reply, Everest Sports scored 153 in 41 overs and took a lead of 69 runs. Sreenivasa Sarma scored 37 runs and was well supported by Karan Achutanand with 29 runs. Rahul Vishwanathan scored 15 runs. Andrew Watson took 3 wickets while Ben Flaxen took 2 wickets.

In the second innings, a fantastic century (101) by Ed Hurst powered South Shields to an impressive 181 for 4 in 33 overs. South Shields declared their innings setting Everest a target of 100 in 10 overs. Everest slumped to 15 for 5 but hung on to draw the match in a tense finish. Oliver Appleby took three wickets.
