KUWAIT, July 21 (KUNA) --
1932 -- Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri Al-Saeed sends a letter to the British political liaison officer in Kuwait to demarcate borders between Iraq and Kuwait. The Ruler of Kuwait Sheikh Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah approves the demarcation on August 10.
1963 -- The State of Kuwait opens an embassy in Islamabad, Pakistan, and a consulate in Karachi.
1963 -- Kuwait Teachers Society is established with the aim of strengthening scientific, cultural and technical cooperation between teachers in the Arab and friendly countries. The society gives opinions over the curricula and sees to affairs of teachers, as well as exchanging educational and social information with Arab teachers' unions.
1998 -- Iraq, in a bid to mislead the international community over the Kuwaiti prisoners of war, accuses Kuwait of capturing 1,073 Iraqis alleged to be missing since Iraq invaded Kuwait in August 1990.
2002 -- The Kuwaiti Cabinet approves appointment of Dr. Nader Al-Jallal as Kuwait University (KU) rector to succeed Dr. Fayza Al-Kharafi.
2003 -- The Gulf Aviation Services Group inaugurates the first taxi service.
2004 -- Kuwait Youth Hostel Committee gets full membership at International Youth Hostel Federation with the agreement of the federation's 70 members at its 45th meeting held in Korea.
2005 - Kuwait Journalists Association joins the International Federation of Journalists that was established in 1926 and located on Brussels.
