ABU DHABI, May 27th, 2013 -- The Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation is organising Iftar banquets for 60,000 fasting individuals during the coming month of Ramadan for the 4th year in a row, in honour of the memory of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
Ahmed Shabib Al Dhahiri, Director-General of the Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, stated that the project comes in implementation of directives from H.H. Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, and H.H. Sheikh Omar bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation, to carry on the message of goodwill, founded by the late Sheikh Zayed, to Iftar fasting individuals and thus elevate the conditions of needy people in various parts of the emirates. Al Dhahiri added that for the first time, the Foundation has coordinated with UAE Embassies in about 25 other countries to implement Iftar banquets outside the UAE, so as to achieve goals set out by the late Sheikh Zayed. He pointed out that the Foundation continues its giving in various fields of charitable, humanitarian and social work, and is working to help needy people in order to implement its vision in providing assistance and generosity in multiple areas in line with the high values guided by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.Copyright Emirates News Agency (WAM) 2013.
