DOHA, Nov 20 (KUNA) -- The Kuwaiti national shooting team competing in the Eighth Arab Shooting Championship at Doha, Qatar, earned two gold medals in the Senior and Junior Men's Skeet categories of the event on Wednesday.
The senior team included Abdullah Al-Rasheedi, Zaid Al-Mutairi and Salah Al-Mutairi. Al-Rasheedi also gained a silver medal in the Men's Skeet singles, with bronze going to Salah Al-Mutairi.
The result was deemed as a sign of true class presented by the Kuwaiti marksmen, according to the team's head of delegation Misfer Al-Ghorba.
These accomplishments place huge emphasis on the team to achieve further results which can only be gained through financial backing and extra international competitions, he said.
Al-Ghorba said that the juniors' men's team of Fawaz Al-Azmi, Abdulaziz Al-Miqled and Ahmed Bu Taiban achieved gold as well.
The Arab championship was hailed as a huge success for the Kuwaiti team by Al-Ghorba, with 22 medals altogether going to the men and women of Kuwait.
The win along with many other gold, silver and bronze medals comes at the concluding day of the championship that hosted 14 Arab countries and began on 15 November.
