Abu Dhabi: Tablez Food Company, the food and beverage arm of Lulu International Group, announced on Wednesday a franchise agreement with Galito’s, a South African casual dining restaurant chain specialising in flame-grilled chicken.
The agreement will see Tablez invest Dh55 million towards the launch of 15 outlets in the UAE within the next four years, with the first outlet expected to open by the end of October in Abu Dhabi’s Al Wahda Mall.
The company also plans to invest $10 million to launch 10 outlets in India over the next five years.
Vinay Lall, chief operating officer at Tablez, said the company has targets to open Galito’s outlets in Dubai before the end of this year, and expected the emirate to be their biggest growth market.
The 10 outlets in UAE are set to provide 300 to 350 job positions at shop level, along with additional employment at the administrative level.
With strong market presence in various countries across Africa, as well as Canada, Galito’s is marking its entry in the Middle East with the partnership agreement with Tablez..
Tablez Food currently has a portfolio of 14 food and beverage outlets, which includes Peppermill restaurants, Bloomsbury cafés, De Thali restaurants, and London Dairy.
