Damascus - Activities of the Syrian-Turkish Tourist Workshop on carrying out the executive steps of making the two countries as one tourist destination in implementation of tourism agreement ,which was inked between the two countries last February, kicked off on Wednesday.

In the opening of the workshop, Minister of Tourism Dr. Saadallah Agha al-Qalaa underlined the importance of bolstering tourist relations between the two countries, pointing out that these relations would serve the interests of both countries because their tourist facilities are integrated and every country provides a value for the capacities of the other country.

Agha al-Qalaa said that the aim of the workshop is to unite the joint points of strength of both countries in away that would ensure the increase in tourists' numbers whether from the Arab world or from other countries because turkey has a strong presence at Eastern Asia markets through the Turkish Airlines which have direct flights to the Far East.

He added that Syria has also many points of strength, particularly at the South American markets through 10 million Syrian expatriates living in these regions, pointing out that there are many factors that would help the two sides if they unite their promotion efforts at the foreign markets.
