DAMASCUS  - Mrs. Asmaa al-Assad on Monday opened " Sea of Jewelry" exhibition at Damascus National Museum which was organized by Archeology and Museums General Directorate, Italian Cultural Center, National Museum for Ruins in Napoli and Union of Old Industry Borgo Orfishi District.

The exhibition displays group of old archeological jewelry found in different places in Syria that date back to various eras from the First Millennium B.C. to Ottoman era.

The Italian participation in the exhibition came by identical exact copies of jewelry manufactured by Union of Old Industry District in Napoli.

The exhibition contains 35 peace of gold, 11 of them discovered in Mari and Ugarit sites, 13 date back to Second and Third Millenniums B.C.( The Roman Empire) and other 11 represent the Islamic Era.

It also includes a group of jewelry dates back to 18th and 19th centuries.

Mrs. Asmaa toured the exhibition and got acquainted with the displayed Syrian and Italian jewelry.
