Damascus - Head of Italian delegation from Pistoia Chamber of Commerce Andrea Massini said Italian businessmen are interested in building trade and investment relations with their Syrian counterparts given the promising opportunities available in Syria.

Massini's remarks came during his meeting with Deputy Chairman of Damascus Chamber of Commerce Baha Eddin Hassan on Monday.

Delegation members of both sides discussed cooperation in exchanging expertise in the field of floriculture and trade of flowers and ornamental plants.

Massini said it is important to open prospects for cooperation between Italian and Syrian companies working in plant nurseries and extend direct export lines for floricultural products between both countries.

He expressed desire of the Italian companies to supply Syria with flowers and plants that suit its environment and meet the needs of Syrian cities.

Hassan discussed the importance to benefit from the Italian expertise in decorative flower industry, calling on Italian businessmen to invest in Syria, which will help diversify the range of exchanged commodities and products between the two countries.
