MUSCAT -- Oman TV will air a special film at 2.30 pm today, on Birds of Oman -- Dhofar. The Arabic language film, with English sub-titles, is the product of a four-month-long shoot by the Oman TV crew, during and after the khareef season in Dhofar Governorate.
It features superb photography of nearly 100 birds which include the Hoopoe Lark with its musical song, the Red-backed Shrike which is a passage migrant, the Pheasant-tailed Jacana which treads gingerly over water weeds and lily pads in search of food, the Demoiselle Crane which has occasionally been recorded on farmland in Dhofar, and the Arabian warbler which loves the mountainous region, as well as many others.
