Abu Dhabi,Nov 25th, 2011 (WAM) -- Mother of Emirates HH Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak has said that 2nd December 1971 will ever remain a glorious day in history as well an invaluable treasure of memory that we bequeath to our children and grandchildren for cherishing throughout the coming ages.
In a wide ranging interview given to 'Zahrat-el-Khaleej', UAE's first women's magazine, on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of UAE National Day, chairwoman of the General Women's Union and of the Family Development Foundation and chairwoman of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood Sheikha Fatima recalled that it was on that day the Union of the emirates was born. In the interview which will be published in tomorrow's edition of Zahrat-el-Khaleej, Sheikha Fatima said that the birth of the United Arab Emirates was the realisation of a dream long-cherished by the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan who laid the foundations of the young nation. He passed the powerful state as a trust over to the honest hands; the hands of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Their Highnesses The Supreme Council Members and Rulers of emirates; said Sheikha Fatima.
