MUSCAT -- BankMuscat, main sponsor of the Muscat Festival, held its prestigious Al Mazyona Savings Scheme mega draw of RO100,000 bi-monthly prize, and RO20,000 monthly prize and the winners for the Al Mazyona children's account on Tuesday at Festival Plaza grounds in Azaiba.

The event drew much attention amidst great applaud from visitors and tourists. Hamed Rasby, deputy general manager of the Muscat Municipality drew the name of Samiya Salim Abdullah Al Kasbi of the Shatti Al Qurum branch as the winner of the RO100,000 prize, and Khlafan Humaid Saleem Al Battashi of the Qurum branch as the lucky winner of the RO20,000 prize.

Ten lucky names of winners for the Al Mazyona children's account were also announced at the gathering.

In keeping with the Al Mazyona tradition of maintaining transparency and fairness in conducting the draws, the guests present at the festival grounds were able to watch with abated breaths as names of all account holders rolled on to the screens and finally the names of the lucky winners were picked out. The draws were also witnessed by audit representatives from M/s Ernst & Young who are responsible for testing the prize draw programme and general-purpose controls surrounding the prize draws.

Sulaiman Al Harthy, DGM-consumer banking at BankMuscat, who graced the occasion along with other members of the management of BankMuscat said: "It is quite overwhelming to see such an enthusiastic response to the Al Mazyona schemes, we are delighted to see that the scheme has been able to find a place in the hearts of the people, and it is gratifying to see that so many have benefited from it. Al Mazyona is our flagship retail product and we consider the Al Mazyona prize draw a great opportunity for the bank to give back to the community and spread happiness amongst our customers."

Al Mazyona offers prizes of RO100,000 every two months and RO20,000 every month. Besides this, every week, three winners from each of the six regions win RO1,000 each, along with two lady winners, who also win RO1,000 each. With so many prizes and so many chances to win, no wonder Al Mazyona from BankMuscat is the nation's favourite savings scheme.

To be eligible to participate in the series of grand prize draws, customers must have a minimum balance ranging from RO100 to RO3,000 in their saving accounts. The more the balance and longer the balance -- greater are chances of winning the cash prizes.

Account holders who maintain a minimum weekly balance of RO100 get a chance to win one of the weekly prizes of RO1,000, account holders who maintain a monthly minimum balance of RO3,000, get a chance to win RO20,000 every month and all account holders who have maintained minimum monthly balance of RO3,000 for the past six months get a chance to win RO100,000 every alternate month as a recognition for their loyalty to the bank.

Additionally all account holders who maintain a monthly minimum balance of RO3,000 get a free personal accident insurance cover up to RO10,000 as a measure of protection by the bank.
