Sharjah Ruler honours Board of Directors of SHALCO

Sharjah, Mar 22nd, 2009 (WAM): His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, UAE Supreme Council member and ruler of Sharjah honoured today the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Liquefied Petroleum Gas Company (SHALCO) and representatives of the shareholding companies.

The event held at the Ruler's office came on the occasion of the end of the partnership and transfer of the company's full ownership to the government of Sharjah.

Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, Chairman of the Sharjah Petroleum Council and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the company HH Sheikh Ahmed Bin Sultan Al Qasimi and Sharjah Deputy Ruler HH Sheikh Abdullah Bin Salem Al Qasimi were present at the ceremony.

The ruler spoke highly about the company's efforts over the last quarter a century to achieve the all the goals set at the time of the company's formation.

He also commented on the ability of the company to overcome all the difficulties and impediments, especially in the first years after its formation.

SHALCO was founded early in 1984 as per an Emiri decree.

Sheikh Sultan thanked them said that he is looking forward to continued cooperation with them in the future projects of the emirate of Sharjah.
