ABU DHABI, June 18th, 2013 (WAM) -- The Ministry of Health today held the second common meeting to discuss the health-care field between GCC countries and the Republic of Turkey. The meeting was headed by Abdul Rahman Al Owais, UAE Minister of Health, with the attendance of Dr. Abdulla Bin Okla Al Hashem, General-Secretary for Humanitarian and Environment Field in the GCC, Vural Altay, Turkish Ambassador to the UAE and a number of representatives from the health authorities and both countries.
Abdul Rahman Al Owais said, "The interests of the UAE Ministry of Health to provide superlative health-care services within the private health sector and health authorities follows the instructions of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan to provide excellent services for both UAE nationals and expatriates as well as the ambitious strategic plan of the UAE Federal Government led by Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The UAE aims to achieve the best healthcare services that are comparable to international healthcare centers with affordable costs for all community members". "The cooperation between the GCC countries in general and the UAE in particular assure their solid capabilities to provide excellent and superlative services in the future. The initiative of "smart-government", which was announced lately by the UAE government, aims to provide excellent government services with high quality standards around the clock, flexible, efficient and transparent services that would satisfy the requirements and ambitions of customers. Our purpose is to improve government services through smart phones. I would also like to praise the health-care services in the Republic of Turkey as well as their high-level standards, thanks to its coordination and interaction with countries worldwide as well as the GCC countries", he elaborated. Dr. Abdulla Bin Okla Al Hashem said, "The meeting comes as part of the strategic talks between the GCC countries and the Republic of Turkey based on the common bilateral third ministerial decision which was issued by the GCC countries and Turkey in October 2010 in Kuwait. The decision includes the formation of a common team from both sides to discuss cooperation in the health-care field. The meeting covered a number of common issues such as the cooperation in therapeutic tourism, the organization of several workshops and visits to Turkish health-care institutes, common projects and programmes between the two parties to enhance the health-care field between both parties".Copyright Emirates News Agency (WAM) 2013.
