Saudi Arabia's Majid Society backs 30 empowerment projects

Majid Society is characterized by its implementation of pragmatic projects directly linked to the actual needs and requirements of the community

JEDDAH — The Majid Bin Abdulaziz Society for Social Development and Services signed on Monday a partnership agreement with Nama Al-Rajhi Humanitarian Foundation to support 30 projects by providing training, development and financing services.

The agreement was signed within the objective of giving impetus to people interested in starting their projects by linking them with the labor market and enhancing the concept of sustainable development and converting projects from relief to empowerment and making the individual a productive person in society.

Majid Society is characterized by its implementation of pragmatic projects directly linked to the actual needs and requirements of the community. It is concerned with the field of socio-economic development and similar pioneering ideas that have produced results having an added value on sustainable development and enriching the society with productive capabilities.

Meanwhile, Director General of Majid Bin Abdulaziz Society Hammam Zarea stressed that the partnership agreement comes within the sphere of the society’s “training camp” initiative, which aims to instill the concept of societal partnership toward the empowerment of business owners and their entry into the labor market, in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.

In this connection, a lot of attention is accorded to the entrepreneurship sector and enabling the Saudi youth to have their own businesses and continue to manage their own projects. This now has a direct, clear and tangible impact on improving the standard of living of individuals.

Zarea said the agreement would strengthen the relations with the private sector in the field of corporate social responsibility (CSR), raising the standard of training programs and improving performance.

The “training camp” initiative aims to raise the beneficiary’s capabilities, facilitate joining the labor market, acquaint him with the concept of entrepreneurship, its conditions and characteristics, enable him to prepare a business model, understand market needs and opportunities for improvement, criteria for evaluating the product and identifying the financial models for the product, gain skills and methods for implementing and monitoring projects, Zarea said.

He said the Society is functioning under the directives of Prince Mishal Bin Majid, governor of Jeddah and chairman of the Board of Directors of the Society. It strives to make a difference in the development field from a social perspective.
