JEDDAH: Chairman of the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu (RCJY) Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Thinayan on Monday inspected a number of projects in Yanbu Industrial City.

The Yanbu University College project, consisting of a number of buildings to accommodate the staff and the students, was his first stop.

The development projects in Yanbu 2, including the branch power generating plant (SSPP) that provides electricity to factories and investors, were also inspected. The prince also toured the site of the project to expand the heavy industries, the Marafiq power plant and the branch electricity plant (SS10J) that provides the Red Sea Oil Refinery of Saudi Aramco with 380kh of electricity.

The plant, currently under construction, will enable Marafiq to connect its grid to the Saudi Electricity Company.

Accompanied by a number of senior officials from the RCJY, the prince also visited the dialysis center at the commission's health center.

Bin Thinayan also visited the Al-Idrisi elementary school that won a prize of excellence from the Ministry of Education. He lauded the efforts being made by Minister of Education Prince Faisal bin Abdullah to promote education and said education was the most crucial element in development.
He said the RCJY has prepared its schools to provide a conducive environment for education and learning.

The prince lauded the distinguished level of excellence achieved by the schools, their teachers and students and said the commission was determined to provide the best of educational services to the sons and daughters of its staff.
