Saudi Arabia has announced the registration of more than 250,000 alternative accommodations via online portal for foreign workers, reported SPA.

The arrangements are being by Saudi Arabia's Committee for Studying the Conditions of Housing Foreign Workers headed by Acting Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs, Majed bin Abdullah Al-Hogail through its 940 service, it stated.

The committee has approved administrative databases with various authorities and solution tracks to mitigate current crowded housings, while building a database of real estate suitable for labourers.

The committee said it aims to take all necessary precautions to prevent the novel coronavirus cases in relation to housing for foreign labourers, follow-up their accommodation conditions, temporarily housing them within factories and following up the implementation of standards being issued by Saudi Center for Disease Prevention and Control (Saudi CDC).
