Dubai - Safi Airways moved operations to Dubai International's Terminal 1 from Terminal 2 this month.

The Afghan airline operates flights to Dubai from Kabul, Kandahar and Mazar-e-Sharif.

Tilmann Gabriel, President and CEO, said, "The move to Terminal 1 could not have come at a better time. Safi Airways starts ticket distribution worldwide through all reservation systems and can now serve connecting traffic from around the world via Dubai to and from Afghanistan."

Ticket sales by all IATA travel agents enables the airline to ooperate with other airlines, facilitate seamless travel to or from Afghanistan using Dubai as a gateway.

"Previously, passengers had to be transferred from Terminal 2 to Terminal 1 to make their onward flights. The launch of our flights from Terminal 1 translates into more convenience and shorter connecting times for our customers," Gabriel added.
