MOSCOW - Russian political analyst, Sergei Strokan, stressed on Tuesday that the political reforms which were commenced by President Bashar al-Assad will protect Syria, reiterating Russia's support to the democratic transformations in Syria.
In an interview with Russia Today Channel, Strokan ruled out any changes in the Russian policy towards Syria, pointing out that Russia has succeeded in preventing the Libyan scenario from taking place in Syria.

Head of the Russian Institute of Religion and Politics, Alexander Ignatenko, stressed that al-Qaeda is responsible for several terrorist blasts in Syria, pointing out that al-Qaeda is active in Syria under various titles including "Jabhat al-Nusra" which is a branch of al-Qaeda.
In an interview with Russia Today Channel Ignatenko stressed that al-Qaeda in Syria jeopardizes the whole region because it operates not only in Syria, but also in Yemen, Libya and Mali.
