Ajman, Sep 08th, 2010 (WAM)--His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, UAE Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman, received yesterday at Al Zahir Palace the first edition of Holy Quran meanings' copy of translation in English and Arabic languages in one copy from the team headed by the late Dr Izzuddin Ibrahim.
The team membership includes; Dr Khalifa Rashid Al Shaali, Ali Mohammed Al Shamsi and Dr Mohammed Iqbal. The translation and review took four years at the expense of Sheikh Al Nuaimi. The Ajman Ruler commended the feat in a speech held in honour of the efforts exerted by the team. He also appreciated to the late Dr Mamdouh Haqi for following up the efforts. He noted that the translation of meanings of Holy Quran into English and French will significantly contribute to bringing closer Quran's meanings to Muslims who do not speak Arabic language. Al Shaali lauded the support of Sheikh Al Nuaimi during the translation and also through direct supervision, adding that 10, 000 copies have been published and would be distributed to the scientific centres, libraries, universities, Arab and Muslim and international dignitaries as gifts from the ruler of Ajman.Copyright Emirates News Agency (WAM) 2010.
