The Dnata travel agency's 'Round the World in 80 days' promotion saw a remarkable double win for a Jordanian couple.

Saad Abdul Latif was overjoyed to hear that he had won a voucher worth Dh 5,000 in the draw on August 2, two weeks after his wife Alia Abu Hassan had won a similar voucher.

Latif, President of Pepsi Cola International for Middle East and Africa, said: "We are absolutely thrilled. My wife won two weeks ago and we intend to use the vouchers for a holiday in Lebanon or Egypt."

Other winners of the round include Faiza Al Saeed, Parvez Hamdulay, Fernando Batista, Humaid Al Shamsi, Susan Zachariah, and Microsoft.

Each winner received a travel voucher worth Dh 5,000 which can be used to purchase flight tickets, hotel rooms, car rental, cruises, travel insurance, theme park tickets and even Marhaba services.

Another winner, Faiza Al Saeed, said: "This is the first time in my life that I've actually won something. I never believed my name would come up when I filled in the form at the Dnata centre in Al Ghusais. Thank you very much for making me feel so lucky."

Humaid Al Shamsi, an employee at the Land Department, said: "I will keep the voucher for later and perhaps use it during Ramadan to go to Saudi Arabia, or maybe I will visit Malaysia or Thailand."

Susan Zachariah, who works for Alitalia, said: "I would love to travel to Perth or Sydney. I have relatives in Australia and I am already planning to spend our Christmas there."

Fernando Batista, Supervisor at Dubai Drydocks and a Portuguese national, said: "Obviously I'm very happy. I intend to use the voucher to fly my wife and children to Manila within the next two or three days."

In all, Dnata is giving away 80 travel vouchers, each worth Dh 5,000 over a 12-week period that started on June 1 and will culminate in a grand final draw on August 23 with the winner taking away the star prize - a round-the-world trip for two with first-class air travel and Dh 250,000 in spending money.
