Ras Al Khaimah, Mar 10th, 2010 (WAM) -- RAK Investment Authority (RAKIA) the government body responsible for attracting foreign direct investment for the Government of Ras Al Khaimah and Horasis, an International Swiss Organisation from Geneva, will jointly host the inaugural Global Arab Business Meeting in Ras Al Khaimah on September 26- 27, 2010.
The Global Arab Business Meeting aims to be the foremost annual gathering of Arab business leaders and their global counterparts. The meeting shall help to conceptualize Arab firms rise to global eminence. The event is open to CEOs of the world's leading companies. Speaking at a press conference held to announce the event at the Al Hamra Fort Hotel here yesterday, Dr. Khater Massaad, CEO, RAK Investment Authority, said, " The Global Arab Business meeting shall integrate the top decision-makers from all sectors of Arab and global economies, aimed at finding strategies to expanding the operations outside their region and RAKIA is delighted to co-host the Global Arab Business Meeting. The meeting will also be a platform for the business leaders from across the world to exchange their views and understand the business dynamics of the region especially of Ras Al Khaimah". Dr. Massaad said that UAE and Ras Al Khaimah have solid competitive advantages unmatched in the region to support growth and attract investments. He said that even amidst the global financial crisis, there has been a steady increase in the number of companies registered under RAKIA, with around 2700 companies registered so far with an estimated investment of USD 3 billion. Dr. Frank-Juergen Richter, President, Horasis, said, "The meeting will bring together around 300 CEOs from across the world, including those of Fortune 1000 companies and prominent business leaders from across the Arab region. It will provide an exceptional platform to address challenges and opportunities for the Arab world. Arab business leaders will get an opportunity to exchange ideas on how to build global brands and expand their businesses beyond the region".
