DOHA: Qtel subscribers can now avail of discounted rates as part of the company's latest promotion, this time for its GSM Postpaid services.
The firm's discount on the yearly subscription should benefit new and existing GSM Postpaid customers as well as Hala Prepaid customers, willing to switch their service to postpaid, Qtel said yesterday.
With the yearly subscription, customers will now have the option to pay for their monthly subscription fees one year in advance and not have to worry about monthly fees for an entire year.
During the promotion, new customers can acquire their GSM Postpaid line with a one-year subscription for QR150, instead of the earlier QR450. The QR300 saving is in addition to the existing built-in yearly subscription savings.
Qtel Chief Operating Officer (COO) Sheikh Fahad bin Jassim Al Thani said: "The campaign introduces increased savings, which will substantially benefit customers, while providing them with advanced telecom services. The yearly subscription options are accessible and can be easily acquired at any of our Qtel shops throughout Qatar."
Qtel has also halved the cost of the yearly subscription for all existing GSM Postpaid customers from QR300 to QR150; Hala Prepaid customers can also receive the same benefits as existing customers after switching their Hala account to GSM Postpaid. Qtel will waive the QR70 conversion fee during this limited offer.
To activate the yearly subscription option, existing GSM Postpaid customers can simply call '111. Hala and new customers need to complete the necessary application at any of Qtel's stores and present it along with personal identification.
With the GSM Postpaid subscription, Qtel customers can get low calling rates of 35 dirhams per minute during peak hours and 30 dirhams per minute during off-peak hours. Also on offer are full international and roaming services in 106 countries.
In addition, customers can benefit from value-added services like 3G video calling, Mobile Internet, Mosaic Mob (ring tones, Java games, photos), conference calling, SMS, international and local MMS and voicemail among others. Postpaid customers can get the 'Friends and Family' option enabling them to choose three international numbers and save 25 per cent when calling these numbers at any time.
