BEIRUT (Zawya Dow Jones)--Qatar Fertiliser Co., or Qafco, has signed an agreement to supply 15,000 tons of aqueous ammonia annually to the local Ras Girtas Power Co., or RGPC, Doha-based Al Arab daily reports Thursday.
RGPC will use the material in power generation units at its Ras Laffan power plant, the paper reports.
Qafco is expected to sign next week a similar agreement with the Mesaieed Power Co. that will be followed by supply deals in the near future with a number of large industrial companies, the daily reports citing Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Qafco's vice chairman and managing director.
Mainly state-owned Industries Qatar holds a 75% stake in Qafco while the remaining 25% is held by Norway-based Yara International, according to Zawya.com data.
