DOHA: A documentary film produced by the Ministry of Interior (MOI) won the first place in a regional contest.
The contest was held on the sidelines of the 32nd meeting of "Arab Police and Security Chiefs" held in Beirut (Lebanon) on October 28 and 29. Qatar was represented by a high-profile delegation headed by Brigadier Mubarak Farqi Dhawi. The event was also attended by Arab police and security chiefs in addition to representatives from Arab League, Interpol and UN office for combating crimes and drugs.
The function was aimed at maintaining security and stability in the region by promoting security efforts and strengthening cooperation among the Arab security agencies. The short film prepared by MOI's Public Relations Departments aims to create aware ness among young generation in the Arab World about the security threats surrounding them.
Lieutenant-Colonel Abdullah Al Muftah, Director of Public Relations, noted that the production of the film is as part of MOI efforts aiming to raise the awareness of the youth in the Arab World about security threats facing them. "We are hoping that this documentary will be an addition to Arab security library," added Al Muftah. On three separate occasions, documentaries prepared by MOI had won first prizes.
