BEIRUT (Zawya Dow Jones)--Qatar's Gulf Cement Co. said Tuesday it signed two deals worth $372 million to build a cement plant which is expected to become operational in two years.

Gulf Cement said in a statement on the Doha Securities Market Web site that it entered into a $223-million contract with Denmark's FLSmidth for supply of machinery and equipment for the plant, which will have a production capacity of 5,000 tons of cement per day.

In another deal, Gulf Cement signed a $149-million contract with India's Simplex Infrastructure for construction of the plant.
