DOHA: Qatar Petrochemical Company (Qapco) has won the coveted 'Most Admired Company in Human Capital Management' award at the 3rd GCC Human Resource Excellence Awards 2011, making it the first Qatari company in the energy and industry sector to win the award.

This award is an endorsement of QAPCO's consistent ongoing efforts to implement positive career development strategies across all of its departments and a breakthrough in the world of Human resources Management Excellence.

Held in conjunction with the 6th Human Assets Expansion Middle East Congress and summit, the Awards Ceremony, which took place at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Dubai on Wednesday, is an annual event, which recognises excellence in HR practices followed by GCC public and private organisations and has been designed to honour both individuals and organisations.

Qapco received the Award in recognition of its loyalty and care towards its employees, providing ongoing support, and training and developing them to become the future petrochemicals leaders.

Nasser Al-Hajri, Human Resources & Learning Manager at Qapco said: "The GCC Human Resource Excellence Award is more than recognition of individual excellence. It is a tangible acknowledgment of QAPCO's contribution to the growth, development and professional nurturing of Qatar's human capital."

Qapco was declared as one of the Top 5 nominees in the categories Employer of the Year, Best Nationalisation Friendly Initiative, and Best Training Strategy.
