The Secretary General of the League of the Righteous , Qais al-Khazali condemned on Sunday, attack by an armed group on Musab bin Omair mosque
in Diyala province, killing and injuring dozens of worshipers.
Khazali said in a statement issued by his press office reported for "Shafaq News", that "politicians are responsible for the security debacle in some provinces, they are looking for partisan interests and ignore the development of the country."
Khazali called to "hold perpetrators accountable for this crime, no matter what their affiliations are or their level."
The general secretary of the League of the Righteous refused the regional and international intervention on military level in Iraq, noting "the Iraqis are able to resolve the battles."
The local media quoted Khazali as denying involvement of League of the Righteous movement in Musab bin Omair mosque's incident in Diyala.
It is worth mentioning that unidentified gunmen had stormed Musab bin Omair mosque in Wees sub-district in Diyala province yesterday when worshipers were performing Friday prayers and opened fire on them, killing and wounding dozens of others, as reported by security sources.
Jubouri said in a press conference held yesterday that"an investigation committee has been sent to Musab bin Omair mosque to Diyala province in which the parliament joined with the security and selected a time limit that does not exceed 48 hours to announce the results," adding, "We anticipate those results will be declared in front of the public. "
