Dubai: Toastmasters International held its annual conference at Dubai Men's College yesterday with public speaking contests, starting at 8.45 am. The speaking contests were in impromptu speaking, humorous speech, and international speech. There were 12 contestants for every category. Last year, Bahrain resident Mohammad Ali, was the public speaking champion.

Dubai: A four-member delegation from the Land and Property Department yesterday visited the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) headquarters to benefit from RTA experience. Dr Aisha Al Busmait, Director of Marketing and Corporate Communication at the RTA said the visit is a first step towards cooperation with leading women in various government departments.

Abu Dhabi: The Ministry of Labour said it will not accept any applications for new labour cards unless they were sent through Emirates Post (Empost) said an official. Khalil Khoury, Director of the Work Permits department at the ministry, said the ministry would not accept any applications delivered by hand as of March 24. "The new procedure is more practical; people can send the applications to Empost and they will send them to us. We will not accept any application delivered by hand," he said.
