President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is keen on opening a branch of Iran Khodro Car Manufacturing Company in Babol, Mazandaran province.

Babol's MP Ali Karimi-Firouzjaie also told Mehr News Agency that the president has called for the completion of the first phase of the Iran Khodro project in this northern city by Feb. 18.

The lawmaker said that following the first round of the Cabinet's visit to Mazandaran, industrial projects were launched in this Caspian province.

Karimi-Firouzjaie named renovation of Haraz Road, construction of dams, inauguration of training projects, removal of garbage problem and construction of Babol Ringway as major projects carried out by the current government in Mazandaran province.

"In addition, the government completed 90,000 semi-finished projects," he said.

Also, a number of ministers and their deputies visited the city's ongoing projects in recent weeks, promising to help accelerate their completion.
