Al-Quneitra, SANA _ The Syrian flag was hoisted over Quneitra after seven years of Israeli occupation. Since then, a new stage of the Arab-Israeli conflict, was announced under the title of Arab action, the initiative and finding solutions to face the Zionist danger.
On June 26th, people of the Golan celebrate the 38th anniversary of liberating Quneitra and raising the Syrian national flag thanks to the sacrifices of the Syrian army in October War of Liberation under the leadership of the late leader Hafez al-Assad.
Governor of Quneitra, Eng. Hussein Arnous, expressed the people of Golan confidence that President Bashar al-Assad will raise the Syrian flag in the sky of Quneitra just like his father.
He underlined the significance of such event which put an end to the arrogance of the Israeli occupation authorities who were defeated and withdrew from Quneitra villages and towns which they occupied in 1967.
He hailed the steadfastness of the Syrian people in the face of all foreign pressure which aimed at undermining Syria's stances in support of resistance.
Arnous indicated to the resistance of the people in Golan against Israel's arbitrary and inhuman procedures to annex and juadize the Golan, reiterating their adherence to their Syrian Arab identity and their confidence that the Golan will return to the motherland and the occupation will be defeated.
Mass Meeting in Majdal Shams Marking 38th Anniversary of Liberating Quneitra
A mass meeting was held in Majdal Shams town in the occupied Syrian Golan on Sunday to celebrate the Liberation of Quneitra.
The meeting was attended by national and religious personalities of the occupied Palestine and territories occupied in 1948 and a crowd of Golanese.
The Greek Orthodox Archbishop of Sebastia, Atallah Hanna reiterated the Palestinian people and leadership's solidarity with Syria to overcome the current crisis which aims at undermining its resistant positions in serving the American-Zionist project in the region.
He also reminded of Israel's deliberate destruction of the liberated Quneitra after the decision of cease-fire.
Assem Mahmoud al-Wali and Hassan Fakhereddine from Majdal Shams who were detained in Israeli prisons, expressed the Golanese's confidence that the Golan will return to the motherland, Syria.
" Syria will defeat its enemies and overcome the conspiracy, it will emerge stronger than before from crisis thanks to the awareness of its people who refuse colonialist plans to dismember the country," they said.
The participants saluted the Syrian Arab army who defends the unity of Syria and affirmed their support for the process of reform.
