BEIRUT (Zawya Dow Jones)--Oman's multi-line conglomerate Renaissance Services Tuesday said that Rene Kofod-Olsen has been appointed as chief executive of its fully-owned unit, Topaz Energy and Marine.
Kofod-Olsen, whose "career spans 18 years in the marine industry with the A.P. Moller-Maersk Group," will take charge of his new position at Topaz in early August, Renaissance said in a statement posted on the Muscat bourse website.
U.A.E.-based Topaz operates a fleet of offshore support vessels mainly in the Middle East and North Africa and Caspian regions, according to the statement.
The shares of Renaissance closed 0.2% higher at 0.515 Omani rial ($1.34) in an overall positive market Tuesday.
