MUSCAT — Oman LNG, a major contributor to the sustainable development drive in the Sultanate, has achieved over 10 million man-hours of work without a loss time incident occurring. This is a milestone for the company and is a world class figure when benchmarked against other companies in the industry. Amour Al Matani, deputy general manager of Oman LNG, said the new record is, “a true demonstration of the company’s safe operations and clearly highlights to the world that Oman LNG is a reliable producer of LNG”.
Amour applauded the endeavour of the staff and contractors to make this event happen. “Our contractors are partners in success and this milestone will enhance their confidence in us. Oman LNG’s staff are the true drivers of its success. Thanks to them, this milestone is today a reality.”

What Oman LNG has achieved is a world record that indicates to all its stakeholders that its plant is operated safely.
The company has a wide portfolio of international customers including Osaka Gas, Kogas, Shell, Total, Union Fenosa, Tractebel, Iberdrola, BP and Mitsubishi.
The deputy general manager hailed this milestone, calling it “a major boost to customer confidence in the company and its operations. It is also indicative of our reliable operation of the plant.”
Amour stated that the 10 million man-hours is “evidence of the Sultanate’s ability and capability to host and promote large business projects, which operate with great care of their customers, staff, shareholders, society and contractors and suppliers.”
Oman LNG implements a number of social investment programmes aimed at exhilarating the sustainable development drive in the Sultanate. “The new milestone ‘highlights Oman LNG’s care of society and the environment,” according to Al Matani.
“Oman LNG implements stringent safety programmes to ensure the welfare of its employees. It consistently demonstrates its responsible corporate citizenship and good neighbourhood.”
Oman LNG is a major contributor to the Omani economy, and the new milestone, will no doubt reflect positively on the company’s overall performance. Established by a Royal Decree in 1994, Oman LNG is a role model of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said’s vision 2020.
The company represents His Majesty’s vision of a diversified economy. The company is a joint venture between the government of the Sultanate of Oman (51 per cent), Royal Dutch/Shell group (30 per cent), TotalFinaElf (5.54 per cent), Korea LNG (5 per cent), Partex (2 per cent), Mitsubishi (2.77 per cent), Mitsui (2.77 per cent) and Itochu (0.92 per cent).
