Taking corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities in Oman forward, the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) will organise 'Oman CSR and Sustainability Conference - The Way Forward' at Crowne Plaza Muscat on February 6.
Addressing the media on Monday, Badar bin Saif al Oufi, deputy director general of chamber affairs, OCCI, said, "The conference aims to provide
participants a platform to exchange ideas, share experiences and learn from each other's best practices.
"Conference speakers are experts in their fields and will provide participants new insights and plenty of food for thought on the issue. The conference also aims to provide an overview of growth of CSR and sustainability initiatives in Oman and the region as a whole and where the markets are heading since the recent global economic crisis."
Khalil bin Abdullah al Khonji, chairman of OCCI and other well-known speakers such as Soren Petersen, head of UN Global Compact Local Networks, Mohammed Khamis al Hussaini, director of research, OCCI, Dr Mohammed al Maslamani, a member of Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Eman al Madani, CSR executive, Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry will address the gathering.
The conference will discuss topics that will include international and regional CSR initiatives, CSR best practices in Oman and CSR initiatives in different sectors.
