MUSCAT -- Dr Rajha bint Abdulameer bin Ali, Minister of Tourism, has said that a new tourism project will come up in Kalbouh and it will be carried out by the private sector. In a statement to Oman, sister Arabic daily of the Observer, the minister said that the project, which will begin to be implemented in one and a half years, includes a five-star hotel and other facilities to be set up in a section of Kalbouh Park.

Dr Rajha said that the project is still under study and that the Ministry of Tourism will consider all aspects of the project to ensure that the public will benefit from the general facilities while the hotel will be set up in an exclusive section and not at the area set for the public. She explained that the investors to undertake the project will also help develop Riyam Park in co-operation with the Muscat Municipality so that both the projects will be a comprehensive whole.
