Dubai: The first five nightly lectures on Islam in Arabic have concluded in Dubai’s Ramadan Forum, paving the way for the first-ever Bengali language lecture on Tuesday night.
The forum is an annual Ramadan event mainly focused on Islamic lectures, organised by the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), at Dubai World Trade Centre.
It is held under the patronage of Shaikh Ahmad Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, chairman of the Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation.
The event’s 13th edition, which ends on July 14, also has lectures in Malayalam, English, and Urdu.
The first Bengali lecture on the ‘Foundations of Ramadan’ will be presented by Moti Abdul Hakeem on Tuesday night at 10.40pm, after the Ramadan Taraweeh prayers.
On Thursday night, a huge crowd is expected for the English lecture by Indian speaker Dr Zakir Naik.
Besides the lectures, the forum has lined up health and social events too. Free health checks by leading hospitals and clinics in Dubai were held under the Health of the Fasting Awareness Campaign. Specialists also made presentations on preventive medicine and provided free health tips.
In addition, there was the Preacher of the Nation series providing a platform to budding preachers to deliver lectures on various topics.
Iftar for Non-Muslims
During the event, non-Muslims have the opportunity to enjoy a free iftar experience with a programme designed to introduce the spirit of the holy month to visitors.
To be held at Dubai World Trade Centre, the programme includes a presentation followed by a traditional iftar and dinner. Individuals, families and corporate groups keen on attending the programme can register through the Ramadan Forum website, almultaqa.ae
More details about the 12-day forum are available on facebook.com/almultaqa.ae.
