HM King Mohammed VI presided Friday in Casablanca over the signing ceremony of a convention concerning the finalisation of the construction and upgrading of the show room and the Moroccan national conservatory of art and handicrafts (CNAAM) of the religious and cultural complex of Hassan II mosque, reported MAP news agency.  

The Monarch was briefed on the state of the nine ha complex which includes a show room, conservatory, prayer room and a medersa (religious school).

The convention aims at finalising the construction and upgrading of two buildings. The project will cost MAD 187 million and span over 30 months.

The CNAAM is destined to youth, who have failed their studies, in order to help their integration in society. The conservatory includes workshops where young people can be trained in the fields of Moroccan traditional art and handicrafts.

The construction and upgrading projects will be realised in partnership with the ministries of culture, tourism, handicrafts and social economy, the Wilaya of Grand Casablanca, the Casablanca Urban Agency, the regional council of Grand Casablanca, the Hassan II Funds for Social and Economic Development and the Office of the Professional Formation and the Promotion of work (OFPPT).
