Some 10 percent of financial resources of National Development Fund (NDF) will be made available to the production sector in form of rial facilities, said industries, mines and trade minister.

Speaking in the inaugural ceremony of the first industrial bread production company of Mashhad, Khorasan Razavi province on Tuesday he said that based on the Parliament's (Majlis) approval some three percent of the income earned by three banks namely: Industry and Mines, Tejarat and Keshavarzi through deposits will be made available to the sector, IRNA reported on Tuesday.

The minister noted the government plans to complete 300 semi-finished industrial and mineral projects under 'Mehr Mandegar' plan by the end of the current Iranian year (on March 21, 2013) at the cost of 140 trillion rials ($14 billion).

He said the ministry is prepared to support the private sector to overcome international sanctions on the country.

The minister said that so far, 11 industrial bread production units have been established nationwide and another 11 units will become operational in the near future.

Ghazanfari stated that so far, 700 permits have been issued for the establishment of industrial bread production units, of which 220 have been introduced to the banks.

Elsewhere in his remarks he said that some 3,336 projects were approved by the ninth and tenth governments during the cabinet's provincial trips, of which 1,568, 994 and 574 pertained to industrial, mineral and commercial sectors, respectively.

The official said 75 percent of the approved projects in the fields of industries, mines and trade have been implemented so far, pointing out that 690 large industrial and mineral units have been established or become operational nationwide during 2005-2011.

Some 350 trillion rials ($35 billion) were invested on projects which generated 163,000 job opportunities.

He noted that about 11,000 intermediate industrial and mining units with $14.5 billion have been set up or become operational in various sectors including textile, machine manufacturing and food production.

Ghazanfari noted that 12,500 small industrial units have gone into operation during the period at a cost of 40 trillion rials ($4 billion), generating 87,000 job opportunities in the country.

He said that a total number of 24,000 industrial and mining units became operational during 2005-2011.

On Saturday, Ghazanfari said his ministry has complied 10 pivotal plans in line of materializing the goals of the current year which has been named as 'Year of National Production, Supporting Iranian Labor and Capital' by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.

He added that improving the business environment and facilitating the affairs of production units is the top priority of the ministry.

He said improving the quality of domestic products and reducing the final prices is the second plan of the ministry.

In addition, the ministry's third plan is to use the entire capacity of the production units and complete semi-finished projects, he pointed out.

He noted some 20 trillion rials ($2 billion) will be allocated to complete semi-finished projects in industry and mine sector, hoping that expediting the implementation of the projects will help generate jobs and increase national production.

Ghazanfari listed management of imports and promoting non-oil exports, enhancing public culture on using domestic products, promoting the culture of observing the rights of consumers, support for launching new industries and employing state-of-the-art technology in production units, securing financial facilities required by production sector as the fourth to seventh priorities of the ministry in the current year respectively.

He said that expansion of industrial townships and infrastructures and strategic planning at national and provincial levels are the other priorities of the ministry.

Stressing that completion of 300 large and small projects is of high importance this year, he said three trillion rials ($300 million) have been made available to provincial governor general offices to provide assistance to the crisis-hit units.

He concluded that people expect that national products to be of high quality. They want domestic units to offer proper after-sale services.
