The ambassadors, diplomats and economic consultants of 30 countries have been invited to the Second Conference and Exhibition of Investment Opportunities in Mines and Mining Industries, said the head of Iran Mining Engineering Organization.

Hormuz Nassernia added that the confab and expo open today in Tehran in a ceremony to be attended by First Vice President Es'haq Jahangiri, Industries, Mines and Trade Minister Mohammad Reza Nematzadeh and Majlis representatives, IRNA reported.

Nassernia said attracting and supporting domestic and foreign investments are the main duty of the organization.

The official noted that more investments should be made in the country to generate jobs for youths, adding that the inauguration of new mines will function as the dynamic engine of the country's industries.

Nassernia also said the government should devise strategies to help attract domestic and foreign investments.

"The ground should be prepared for related organizations, including Iran's Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation, and Iran Mining Engineering Organization, to identify the problems and challenges facing the sector," he said.

The exhibition and conference will run till Dec. 12.
