MAHDIA - "My visit to Souassi, Governorate of Mahdia signals the end of years of exclusion and marginalisation experienced by this region," said Caretaker President Moncef Marzouki.

Speaking on Friday at the opening of the 34th Festival "Mohamed Sassi Sghaier" for Popular Poetry, Marzouki said "there is still a long way to end the marginalisation suffered by the Governorate of Mahdia.

During this cultural event, President Marzouki spoke of the land problems facing the region, saying the Presidency of the Republic is now working on this issue and more particularly on projects suspended for land reasons.

The "Mohamed Sassi Sghaier" Festival for Popular Poetry featured poetry recitals, equestrian and folk shows as well as a handicrafts exhibition.
