KUWAIT: Attorney Loai Al-Khorafi, who is acting on behalf of the Mohammed Abdulmohsen Al-Khorafi and Sons Group and the National Investments Company, has responded angrily to accusations about his clients contained in MP Musallam Al-Barrak's grilling motion against the interior minister. The lawyer said that Al-Barrak has always targeted his clients with false accusations by falsely claiming to be protecting public funds, accusing the MP of violating the constitution in the process.
Al-Khorafi said that Al-Barrak's claims and accusations against his clients have actually been issued against another company, and that the alleged "merger" that he had claimed was fictitious, stating that these issues had been resolved by legal means and regulations. In addition, Al-Khorafi responded to Al-Barrak's challenge to expose the parties and individuals who he is defending by calling on the parliamentarian to look around him in order to find them as they are already exposed for all to see.
The lawyer warned Al-Barrak to stop making such allegations and challenges, saying that he won't be able to prevent his clients from taking legal action indefinitely and that such provocations will be met with the appropriate retaliation. He also challenged the MP to stop hiding behind his parliamentary immunity so that he could face legal charges of defamation and slander, reported Al-Rai. Al-Khorafi had earlier issued a statement rejecting the accusations made by Al-Barrak during the grilling sessions, indicating that the MP's intention was to cause harm to his clients' interests.
